Under the able guidance and support of Director Principal,Dr. Bhavneet Bharti, Basic life support (BLS) workshop was conducted at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences on 29 .11.22 as a part of the foundation course for the first-year M.B.B.S. students. Future healthcare providers were oriented and trained with hands-on experience on simulators by the team led by Dr. Ritu Gupta and Dr. Sandeep Kaur along with Dr. Puja Saxena and Dr. Ashish Jindal. Dr. Ritu Gupta, Associate professor, Deptt. Of Emergency, medicine and AHA certified ACLS instructor, sensitized the students on the need for early CPR in out-of-hospital cardiac arrests. As per Dr. Sandeep Kaur, in charge skill lab at AIMS Mohali, the BLS course is conducted every year at our Institute. As per NMC, BLS is an integral part of the foundation course for MBBS students. As per Dr. Ritu Gupta, high-quality CPR and early use of AED play an important role in increasing chances of survival.
