DEPARTMENT OF INTERNAL MEDICINE

It is providing outdoor, indoor and 24-hour emergency services to the patients in District hospital phase 6, Mohali. Before the commencement of Covid-19 pandemic, the department was catering an average of 250-260 patients per day in OPD and nearly 85-90% bed occupancy in general and emergency wards. Currently, the hospital is declared as a dedicated Covid-19 Centre and providing level 2 facilities since then. The department also Geriatric Clinic, Haemodialysis unit with 2 functional haemodialysis machines and RO plant of 1000L capacity. Under NVHCP, testing and treatment facilities free of cost are provided to Chronic HCV patients. It is also running special clinics like NCD, Yellow fever vaccination and Haemophilia injection clinic. The department is also providing special care to HIV patients by running an ICTC testing centre and plans to expand it as a full-fledged ART clinic.

Services planned for future

The department plans to start , hypertension and diabetic clinics in near future. Haemodialysis facilities are going to be expanded as 3 HD machines that can work with a 1000 L capacity RO plant.
